Catalina Club required a comprehensive interior refresh that could accommodate a broad and varied user demographic, including golfers, families, tourists, and patrons across multiple age groups. The venue needed to operate seamlessly across different times of day, supporting a wide range of functions—a café, lounge, dining, bar, reception, golf retail, and both indoor and outdoor seating—within an existing footprint.

A key constraint of the brief was to avoid structural modifications in order to manage capital expenditure and maximise return on investment. At the same time, the design needed to address acoustic performance and improve overall comfort and usability within a busy, multi-functional environment, while introducing a cohesive, contemporary identity grounded in a refined ‘Hamptons’ aesthetic.

The design establishes a series of clearly defined yet interconnected zones, each tailored to different user behaviours and service needs. Café, lounge, dining, bar, retail, and outdoor areas are distinguished through variations in furniture, finishes, and ceiling treatments, creating a cohesive and dynamic environment without structural changes.

Material selection was driven by both performance and aesthetics, with acoustic treatments reducing noise transfer and improving overall comfort. Planning also prioritised operational efficiency, optimising circulation and adjacencies to streamline service. The result is a flexible, high-performing space that enhances user experience while delivering strong commercial value.
